Setting up your AI Visibility dashboard
When accessing AI Visibility for the first time, you will be asked to set up your dashboard so we are able to begin data collection.
To set up your dashboard, follow these steps:
Step 1: Enter your brand details (brand name, brand domain, and brand terms).
Your Brand Name is required, while additional branded terms are not. If you have branded terms or keywords that are associated with your brand (for example, Grand Cherokee for Jeep or Sprite for Coca-Cola), feel free to enter them in the second box. You can hit Enter or click the plus sign after each term to add it, and you may enter up to 5 terms.
Step 2: Enter your competitor details.
Enter competitor brands you’d like to compare performance against. This step is optional. You can enter a brand name and associated brand terms for up to 3 competitors.
Step 3: Confirm your selected LLMs.
Confirm your AI Providers. Gemini, Google AI Mode, and ChatGPT will be selected by default.
Step 4: Enter topics for prompt generation.
This is where you enter in general topics you’d like to explore AI prompts for, and later their responses. We use topics to generate prompts for you to select and track your brand’s performance in the responses. For example, if you are a yarn company, you may enter “yarn weight” and “crochet patterns for beginners.” You can hit Enter or click the plus sign after each topic to add it, and you may enter up to 4 topics.
Step 5: Generate prompts to track.
Click Generate Prompts.
Step 6: Select prompts to track.
After clicking Generate Prompts, the Prompt List will populate with 25 prompts per topic entered. You can then select up to 100 prompts to track in your dashboard. Use the check boxes on the left to select the prompts you’d like to track
Pro Tip: If you’re not seeing prompts you’d like to track or you’d like to see additional options, simply head back to step 4 and enter new topics. The prompts previously generated will remain in your prompt list.
Step 6: Save your dashboard settings.
Click Save & Continue.
Brand Visibility tab view
When you access the AI Visibility tool, the default view is the Brand Visibility tab. This is where you can see an overview of your AI search data.
Select your data view
After your dashboard has generated data, you can use the drop-downs at the top right to select the LLM and date range you’d like to view data for.
Click Edit Settings to update your dashboard, add new prompts, or remove prompts you’re tracking.
Your Results
The first module of your AI Visibility dashboard is the Your Results block.
This block includes the following information:
- Date - The date of the most recent data collection and the date of the next collection.
- Summary - A brief summary of the brand’s performance in the tracked prompts.
- Brand - The name of the brand you’re tracking.
- Competitor(s) - The competitor(s) you’re tracking.
- AI Engine - The LLM you’re viewing data for at this time. You can change the LLM you’re viewing data for using the drop down above the Your Results block.
Mentions & Positioning
Below the results summary, there are three blocks showing data around your tracked brands’ mentions and positioning in the responses to your tracked prompts.
- How often are brands mentioned? - This chart illustrates the number of prompt responses mentioning your tracked brands.
- How early are brands mentioned? - This block outlines the average placement of where your tracked brands are first mentioned in the responses to your tracked prompts. The lower the percentage, the better. If a brand appears earlier in the responses, it gets stronger visibility.
- How often are brands mentioned first? - This chart illustrates the percentage of prompt responses where each tracked brand is mentioned first.
If you’d like to see more information about how often your tracked terms appear in LLM responses for your tracked prompts, click Show Terms Breakdown on the top right of the graphs.
This will open up the Current Share of Mentions Breakdown By Terms graph. This graph will show how often specific terms appear for each brand. You can add additional tracked brand terms by clicking Edit Settings at the top of the page.
Visibility Trends
The last set of graphs illustrates how your tracked brands are performing over time in AI-generated responses.
- Share of Mentions Over Time - This graph shows how each brand's visibility has trended over time.
- Average Position of First Brand Mention Over Time - This graph shows how each brand's position in LLM responses has trended over time.
To remove a brand from either graph, click it in the key below. Hover over any data point in the graph to see more information.
Edit your dashboard and track more prompts
If at any time you need to edit the settings of your dashboard or add additional prompts to track, click Edit Settings at the top of the page.
From here, you can edit your competitors and add additional prompts to track. You also have the option to manually add custom prompts. To do so, click Add prompts manually.
